ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýChief People Officer Kerry McCafferty has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list.ÌýÌý
The awardÌýrecognisesÌýKerry’s incredibleÌýcontribution toÌýpeopleÌýleadership and colleague wellbeingÌýover the last 35 years, most recentlyÌýatÌýÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýwhere sheÌýchampionsÌýcolleague engagementÌýand inclusionÌýfor more than 2,000 colleagues and volunteers.ÌýÌýÌý
Since joiningÌýÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýin November 2022, Kerry hasÌýled the development of a new People and Culture Strategy, which reflectsÌýthe charity’sÌýcommitment to ensuring that every colleague feels valued, empowered and connected to theÌýorganisation’sÌýcentral purpose of ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.ÌýÌý
During her tenure, Kerry has spearheaded several initiatives to create an inclusive,ÌýengagingÌýand supportive workplace culture. Earlier this year,ÌýÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™sÌýwasÌýrecognised as a Trailblazer organisation by Stonewall,ÌýwhichÌýplacedÌýthe organisation firmly among the UK’s leading organisations forÌýLGBTQIA+ inclusion.ÌýÌýÌý
More recently, an innovativeÌýprogrammeÌýthat KerryÌýhasÌýco-developed to support Global Majority colleagues to develop theirÌýcareersÌýwas Highly Commended in the 2026 Homeless Link Excellence Awards as an outstanding workforce development scheme.ÌýÌýÌý
As a championÌýforÌýworkplace inclusion and wellbeing, Kerry is also aÌýsenior sponsor forÌýtheÌýÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµâ€™s Women’s ActionÌýNetwork andÌýchairsÌýtheÌýorganisation’sÌýAnti-Racist Action Plan steering group.ÌýÌý
With a career in human resources which spans more than 35 years, KerryÌýalsoÌýspentÌýmore than a decade leadingÌýPeopleÌýTeamsÌýfor organisations including the British Transport Police and Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Fire and Rescue Service.ÌýÌý
